Our Journey Here
From our very first steps as CPAs to the path laid before us today, our passion for solving financial challenges for small and mid-sized businesses has always been our guide. Follow along with our journey. Who knows? Maybe our paths will cross soon enough.
2019
Our journey starts in downtown Kelowna. Devyn and Matt meet while working at a private company and with their similar personalities, they hit it off immediately. Our combined knowledge in public practice and private industry makes for a great team with a wide spectrum of experiences. Transcend CPA’s origins begin to take shape.
Based on our shared experiences in the accounting sector, we noticed a lack of holistic accounting support for small and mid-sized businesses. We began hatching a plan to service this audience.
2020
On January 31, 2020, we made it official. Transcend CPA was incorporated! We received our CPABC license by March 2020 and took our first steps together as a boutique accounting firm… just in time for COVID to shut down the business world at large! In our first year, we helped clients navigate the complexities of a new world, connecting them with financial resources and helping them navigate the complicated world of COVID relief funding programs on top of our regular business.
2021
Through the first full year of business we took on many new clients and with this growth period we were able to hire our first employee. We continued to roll with the punches, helping clients navigate a shifting landscape of small business benefits and tax breaks to keep our clients afloat during a challenging and uncertain year.
2022
They say the only constant is change. In 2022, we went fully remote in response to our clients’ shifting needs allowing us to continue to offer exceptional support for the varying needs of our clients. A growing roster of satisfied clients combined with the flexibility of remote services resulted in another year of solid growth for Transcend CPA.
2023
The story continues! With the launch of our new website and improved easy-to-understand service packages tailored to varying business types, we’re excited to continue our journey toward servicing the best clients in BC.
